The Gardens, Whipton – A Flagship Passivhaus Development
We were proud to be involved in The Gardens, Whipton – a £10.4 million Passivhaus development delivered by Classic Builders for Exeter City Council. This flagship scheme added 35 affordable, ultra-energy-efficient apartments to the city’s housing register and has helped revitalise a previously deprived area. Built to full Passivhaus standards, the development addresses fuel poverty by dramatically reducing energy use, while also fostering community through features like green spaces, EV charging, and cycle parking.
Our team at SPS Roofing Ltd played a key role in delivering high-performance roofing systems essential to meeting the strict energy efficiency and airtightness requirements of Passivhaus construction. From planning through to completion, we ensured our work contributed to the overall quality and sustainability of the build. It’s a privilege to have supported a project that sets a benchmark for affordable, environmentally responsible housing.
